Nose still swollen 1 year after rhinoplasty? How common it this?

Swelling around the tip can certainly last longer that a year in some cases. Sometime the skin is thicker so that contributes to a longer swollen period. The fact that the swelling goes down at times and your nose looks good is a good sign that it should one day get to the point where it stays that way. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. Swelling after rhinoplasty is very common and it can take up to a year or longer to subside completely. The reason some days your nose looks more swollen may be due to water retention. As long as you are happy with the outcome of surgery there's no issue of slight swelling. It will disappear in time. Good luck.

Good Afternoon! Thanks for your question. If the procedure was done open, it's very common to have swelling through 12 months. It becomes less common over time, but swelling is to be expected. Things which can improve the swelling are low salt diet, taping, and steroids. By 1.5 - 2 years, nearly all the swelling should be gone. The tip and frontal view are the last to improve in my experience. As long as you're seeing improvement, you should heal well. Hope this helps!
