Will my nose return to normal after injury? (Photos)

After the blow to your nose, it seems that there is a collapse on the back of the nose and enlargement of the nose. You went through the early post-traumatic period. If your complaints continue after about 4 months, surgery can be planned. Have a nice day.

We have not found X-ray helpful for diagnosing and treating people after nasal trauma. If you had a nose bleed after your trauma, and if your nose is persistently changed and larger in appearance 2 months after trauma, you may have broken your nose. If your nose was broken you would have bruised a lot. Your nose definitely is different than before the injury and you may need surgery to correct it. In the meantime you can help reduce the swelling by taping the nose the same way many surgeons tape their noses after rhinoplasty to keep the swelling down. There are many how to videos on line showing how to do this

Is your nose permanently changed after trauma? Your nose definitely appears different in the after pictures than before. Two months is a fairly significant period of time however there could remain a small bit of swelling which may still resolve. A millimeter of swelling can change the entire look of the nose. However x-rays can be unreliable in assessing nasal fractures. So if after another month or two there is no additional improvement you may want to consult with a rhinoplasty specialist.
