I had a 2nd rhinoplasty about 15 years from initial rhinoplasty. The tip of my nose cartilage had been cut and the tip needed to defined and I wanted a more narrow nose. Post 2nd rhino I had awful bruising numbness (that persist even 3 years later) and an odd line that appeared when I smiled. I found the line to be caused by a strut that was placed that I was told wasn’t placed. My question. Would whatever was done to my nose have caused me to have a longer upper lip?

It's of course very difficult to speculate without knowing what type of Rhinoplasty was performed. I can see from the picture straight after the surgery, you have intense bruising inside of the mouth which makes me believe there was some kind of manipulation on the nasal spine which is basically a disc of bones which sits at the end of the septum which limits the upper movement on the lip.

It is possible the surgeon did some manipulation in that area and released it from the bone, lengthening the lip and creating the horizontal line you have when smiling.

It's likely that this operation gave you this elongated lip.
