Thanks for the question. You should not have piercings for at least 2-4 months. Then, if you talk to your surgeon and get approval, there is no obstacle to having a piercing.
Nose piercing can damage the underlying cartilages. I see patients I operate on with a hole in the lower lateral cartilage as a result from the piercing. The pros and cons of nasal piercing should be discussed with your rhinoplasty surgeon. Generally speaking, piercing of the nose can take place at 8 weeks after a primary rhinoplasty.
You should wait at least 6-8 weeks in order to give you nose enough time to heal. In general, I would not recommend you ever re-pierce your nose after a rhinoplasty though. You also don't want to increase your risk of infection by piercing your nose. Of course, ask your own plastic surgeon what he/she recommends!Best regards,Dr. Speron
Most wounds have healed within 6 weeks. However, exceptions include the possible use of an alar margin graft and therefore you should discuss this with your surgeon prior to proceeding.
Four to eight weeks should be fine, but check with your surgeon since each surgeon has a different feeling about this. You might have him so the piercing.
I’d recommend 10 weeks before piercing the nose after a rhinoplasty procedure but be sure to check with your specific doctor.
In general, I recommend against having the nose pierced. I know of cases where asignificant infection occurred. This can lead to a substantial deformity. Since therhinoplasty is performed for cosmetic purposes, it would be a shame to have the nice contour of the nose following surgery potentially destroyed by piercing of the nose. However, for those who insist on having the nose pierced, waiting at least a couple of months is advisable.
You will want your incisions to heal, and you will want to discuss this with your surgeon. I would recommend no less than a 6 week interval before a foreign body is introduced into the surgical region.
I have my patients wait at least 6 weeks after their rhinoplasty to have their noses pierced. There are no hard and fast rules but why take any unnecessary risks early on?
This is something that you would need to discuss with your surgeon, but I would suggest waiting at least 6 weeks after surgery prior to piercing your nose. This ensures that your internal incisions will have healed, and your risk of infection will be much lower at this time point. Good luck, /nsn.
It is very unusual to have no sensation at all in the forehead after a rhinoplasty. If you did not have any Botox in the forehead and cannot raise your eyebrows, that is unusual as well. You need to see your physician to get examined in detail. Regards
Many times after rhinoplasty the nasal tip will before overprojected due to placement of columellar struts or tips grafts. The tip often feels rigid. It softens over time and deprojects so I would surely wait at least 9 months before making any judgments.
It’s not unusual for plastic surgeons to use nasal splints following rhinoplasty surgery. Nasal splints help stabilize the nasal bones and also minimize nasal swelling. There usually left in place for about a week following surgery. At this point the nasal bones have stabilized and nasal s...
You can use Orajel for immediate relieft. It is over the counter and rubbing it gives quick pain relief. Most likely it is from the endotracheal tube, oral airway or suctioning. The other possibility is a stress related ulcer like canker sore (aphthous ulcer). In either case it will heal...
The options for non-surgical improvement are limited. The best option for a lack of cartilaginous support would be a cartilage graft from the ears, septum, or rib. These are viable options.
Hello,The closed rhinoplasty is the best way to remove bone and cartilage in hundreds of micro-millimeter slivers to slowly and carefully sculpt the profile to the perfect balance. If you are a primary nose with no previous surgery, you should ONLY consider closed scarless rhinoplasty ...
