Can I Get a Nose Job if I Have a Scar on my Nose?

 

There should be no impact on the results of a Rhinoplasty procedure from your existing scar. Superficial scars such as that usually do not interfere with a surgeon’s ability to perform a cosmetic procedure. On the flip side, having a cosmetic procedure may not necessarily improve the appearance of the scar. I recommend discussing your concerns with a plastic surgeon who can advise you on your surgical options and projected results.

 

A scar on the nose that is well healed usually does not preclude you from having a rhinoplasty operation.  When you are examined by a plastic surgeon experienced in nose surgery, he or she will be able to tell you if there are limitations to the surgery because of the scar. It may also be the case that a closed rhinoplasty may be preferred over an open rhinoplasty if there are any concerns of altered blood flow to the skin of the nose because of the scar. Getting a personal evaluation would be the best starting point.

Scar on nose and rhinoplasty is fine and you should not have any problem if you see an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who knows how to handle this.

A scar on the nose is not an impediment to having a rhinoplasty procedure.  It is important that the scar is well healed prior to the rhinoplasty procedure since the skin is undermined underneath the scar itself.  Any scar revision surgery needs to be performed separately from the rhinoplasty procedure, including dermabrasion if needed.

Usually a scar on the nose that has healed well should not pose a problem for rhinoplasty. Of course it is case by case.

The scar in the skin of your nasal bridge will have no effect on a rhinoplasty result. In fact the scar can be revised, if necessary, during the rhinoplasty procedure.
