Greetings. I am a 25 year old FTM that would like to obtain a small A cup. I want to feel comfortable being without a breast binder and topless. I’m 5’5. Around 130lbs. Is it possible to obtain a flat chest? ( small A cup) And how would The scaring be? Is it possible with minimal scaring? And how about nipple sensation? I have very little nipple sensation naturally so I’d prefer not to lose the small sensation I already have. Thank you in advance.

A Small A-Cup is definitely possible with minimal scars. Areola and nipple sensibility can be preserved.

Dear Yuponn, Thank you for your questions. The short answer to your question is that yes it is possible to obtain a flat chest. However, the scarring answer would be relative to the surgical technique that was used. In order to determine this, you would need to be examined by a Board Certified Operating Surgeon who specializes in this. I suggest setting up a consultation so he or she can examine you in person and together you can formulate a plan to achieve your goals. Nipple sensation may come back, but is not guaranteed and the final result cannot be judged until about 2 years after the surgery. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for your photos - they are very helpful. A double incision would give you a higher chance of having a flatter chest, smaller areolas and slightly different nipple position. With a keyhole incision, I would worry that there would be too much extra skin especially around the nipple area, and this could potentially end up looking more unnatural.

Yes you can have a flat chest. You would be able to obtain the flat chest you wanted by doing  the FTM breast reduction procedure with areolar reduction. Areola reduction is an option for any man or woman who’s not happy with the size of their areolas. Your nipples would be look naturally and same. The scar would be flat and not so big.And It would be great if you consult with the board certified plastic surgeon to help and gives you the best options. Best of luck!

Hello - thank you for your question. You would be able to obtain a flat chest with liposuction and a double incision mastectomy. Note: your scars would be flat and not rounded (because of the tension). Good luck!

Yes, it is possible to obtain a flat chest. The scarring varies for each patient based on what their anatomy is. Although an in-person physical examination and discussion would provide better information, in your case I would likely anticipate a scar around the nipple with some extension to the side going away from your nipple and towards your arms extending only a few centimeters. This allows for removal of the breast tissue and extra skin to give a flatter result. Unfortunately, preservation of nipple sensation cannot be guaranteed as nerves will likely be removed in order to achieve the flat chest that you desire.
