I have a daugther. she is 7 and she is very, very hairy on her back and arms. she wans to have hair removal . can she have ipl hair removal?

anyone can get hair removal if they have parental consent.  But the cause of her hair growth at a young age should be evaluated by an internal exam just to rule out any hormonal issues and ensure this is truly just genetic.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Laser hair removal can be done on patients under 18, but I advise my patients to wait until after puberty, as the hormonal changes usually cause hair to regrow. In a child as young as 7, I would recommend seeing her pediatrician to make sure the hair growth is normal and not caused by a hormone imbalance. On another note, most laser procedures are fairly uncomfortable, bordering on painful, so I avoid performing laser procedures on children unless they are medically necessary.
