Before jumping the gun, I would speak to a dedicated laser specialist about the causes of the premature hair growth. Our office specializes in hair removal and we take a more conservative approach. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
anyone can get hair removal if they have parental consent. But the cause of her hair growth at a young age should be evaluated by an internal exam just to rule out any hormonal issues and ensure this is truly just genetic. Best, Dr. Emer.
Laser hair removal can be done on patients under 18, but I advise my patients to wait until after puberty, as the hormonal changes usually cause hair to regrow. In a child as young as 7, I would recommend seeing her pediatrician to make sure the hair growth is normal and not caused by a hormone imbalance. On another note, most laser procedures are fairly uncomfortable, bordering on painful, so I avoid performing laser procedures on children unless they are medically necessary.
You may be an excellent candidate for daily sunscreen, light chemical peels, and IPL photofacials. In our office, we use the Limelight IPL with excellent results. Parental consent is required under age 18.Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Thank you for your question. Wait 72 hours, and then go in for a follow up visit. Perhaps they were just a bit conservative with the treatmennt. They just may need to retreat you if there is no response. I hope this helps!
IPL is not the gold standard for keloid treatment as there is risk of ancillary damage. I would use the PDL laser on the keloid in addition to IIT, topical therapy with Plato's Scar Serum, and topical massage. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian

Hi there,Most definitely it can. IPL will cause heating of dark hairs that are in the growth phase and result in a permanent loss of hair. If you have a very thick beard, it is unlikely to penetrate however, it is certainly a risk. If you'd like to read more about IPL and the effectiveness...
Most likely, there will be some regrowth, although there is a chance that the hair follicles will be thinner and less active. Nobody knows for sure. There are ways to strengthen the hair follicles at this stage. Best, DR. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
