Hi. It is normal and expected to have a fair amount of swelling after SmartLipo, especially in the inner thighs. That skin is thin, and shows swelling easily. Often times, in the first couple of weeks, the result is camouflaged by the post operative swelling. As that subsides, you will start to get an idea of your result. But it is typically 2-3 months before you really start to see close to what the result is going to be. Keep close followup with your surgeon so that he/she can guide you through this process. Good luck and take care,Dr. Howell
Be patient. Inner thighs hold residual swelling for a long time after lipo. Wear your compression garment, go for massages and be patient. You should be thinking in terms of months.
Thanks for your question! Following liposuction, traditional or SmartLipo, swelling can last for up to a year, believe it or not. Most of your swelling should be gone between 3-6 months, but with the inner thighs, it can linger longer. Just give it time and be patient. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. Swelling post Smart Lipo can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks so this seems quite normal at this time. Most providers will recommend support garments after the procedure which are important and needed to help this. You are on track and be patient, things will improve and you should do just fine.
it is human nature to want results now, but the area will keep getting better and better with time, so allow at least 6 months before expecting to see the final result. i tell all of my patients too, that there is no magic. for most people, if you increase your exercising and be better about your diet, you will also enhance the final result for Smartlipo.good luckdavid berman md
The lumpiness, swelling, itching and hardness after a surgery like you had typically persists at least 8 weeks after the surgery then slowly goes away. In my experience, daily massage of the hard areas makes the biggest difference in getting rid of it sooner rather than later. Staying away from salt will make a big difference in swelling. It can easily take 6 months or more to see results. Be sure to keep any scheduled follow up appointments you have with your surgeons for his evaluation and advice. Liposuction can be performed after an initial liposuction, and tummy tuck can be performed after several liposuction procedures.
This is a wonderful question! I typically will provide two post-operative compression garments so that my patients are able to wear one while they are washing the other garment. With this being said it is perfectly fine to spend a little time without your garment on if you are laundering. It is...
Surgery increases your risk for dangerous blood clots, but blood thinners are usually prescribed for those at higher than average risk due either to lifestyle factors or history. Ask your doctor why they thought blood thinners were necessary. They are not without side effects.
Hi! It can take up to 6 months to see the final result. It takes approximately 6 months for collagen and elastin to grow and make the skin tighter. This procedure is a process and you may experience residual swelling for several months. If you have concerns talk to your...
A chin implant with liposuction of the submental area and neck along with the jowls would be a reasonable option to avoid more involved surgery.
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your recent procedure. It's best to seek a follow up visit with your surgeon to discuss what you are experiencing and to ensure you are healing properly. Good luck and congratulations, again!
