Glandular Tissue left behind after Vaser/Aquashape gynecomastia surgery. Was told Vaser got rid of enough of the gland. True?

I do a lot of gynecomastia correction. I always start with aggressive liposuction. In about half the cases this is all that is needed for a nice result. In about half I make an incision along the lower aerolar edge to excise the small amount tissue left. If there is minimal tissue it is best to not open and maybe cause an inverted nipple. It takes a few weeks for all the swelling to disappear to see what your final result is. Good luck.

You will need to wait until your chest heals completely from surgery before you see your final results, and that may be several weeks or months from now. For my patients who have breast tissue and fat, I use liposuction and surgical excision to get optimal results. I use liposuction alone only for patients with "pseudo-gynecomastia" which is caused by fat only. Good luck.

Congratulations on having your surgery! At this point, since your plastic surgeon only used Vaser liposuction, you will have to wait a few weeks to see if you are happy with the final result. At my practice, when there is both fatty tissue and glandular tissue, I remove both using separate techniques; liposuction for fat removal and excision for glandular tissue removal. In my experience I get the best result when combining these two methods. Every surgeon will have their own opinion and preferred technique. It is possible that Vaser liposuction alone may accomplish the desired result.
