Hi,Implants do make noises or you can feel a "grinding" early on. No cause for alarm. Some feeling of grinding can be due to friction or air retained temporarily from surgery. They resolve. However, I have seen a few cases where grinding starts months to years after surgery. If so, get checked for a capsule because the implant pocket may be thickening and tightening causing grinding. But, early on, this sensation sound to be within normal limits. All the best, "Dr. Joe"
Some patients will experience a sensation of 'grinding' of the breast implant on the chest wall after surgery. This may happen a few days after and last 2-3 weeks. It is likely from some fluid in the pocket and some early inflammatory tissue. It is normal after surgery and goes away and shouldn't be a long term issue. As always, discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.
Dear Jensean, I have had patients describe a "rubbing" feeling on their chest walls for a short period of time immediately (1-2 weeks) after surgery. I have always thought that this was due to the implant rubbing on a rib before the capsule has had a chance to form. It has always gone away and patients do not mention it after a few weeks. I'm not sure where you are in your recovery, but you should return to your surgeon to discuss this "grinding" sensation. Good luck.#Dr.Gervais
The "grinding" sensation maybe fluid or shifting of your implant against your chest wall. This may simply be residual swelling in your tissues against the implant. Wear a tight compression bra and consult your plastic surgeon. Until then minimize your exercise activity level.
You might have a textured implant that is moving within the pocket, but the answer is no, you should not have a grinding feeling behind your implant. We suggest a snug bra and a visit with your surgeon.
No, it is not normal to have a grinding felling behind your implants. Perhaps you should see your surgeon to be properly evaluated.
Thank you for your question If you are early in your post op. After breast augmentation bizarre sensations such as crackling, sloshing and even grinding can occur. As others have stated it is likely nothing to be concerned about. However I suggest you contact your plastic surgeon for an exam and diagnosis.
The cup to cc ratio is not a direct correlation. An exam both physical and the ability to express ones goals and lifestyle is a must. Additionally, measurements indicating breast width, nipple to mid chest separation is important. Finally, in my practice, we have all...
Breast Implant Rippling most often occurs when there is insufficient soft tissue coverage due to little overlying body fat and breast tissue. Implants placed beneath the muscle help to minimize this phenomena but the lower and outside breast (as pectoralis muscle is no longer present), towards...
This is a great question and one that I think many patients often wonder. It is always best to have a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon evaluate you in person and give you some options. My guess would be that there is more than one way to get a nice result in you case, and options...
Three dimensional imaging is very helpful in choosing a size which you think looks natural on you. You can visualize your own body in three dimensions with the implant size and shape which you are considering.
Dear Olund0221, As my colleagues have stated, It is unlikely that the implant you and your surgeon are choosing will cause any real noticeable distortion. Good luck. #Dr.Gervais
I am sorry to hear about your experience. This is something that you definitely should be discussing with your surgeon. There may have been a good reason why your doctor used a different implant and you should discuss this openly and calmly.
