My doctor put the wrong implants in so what should I do?

I am sorry to hear about your experience. This is something that you definitely should be discussing with your surgeon. There may have been a good reason why your doctor used a different implant and you should discuss this openly and calmly.

I would suggest that you discuss this with your surgeon.  Attempting to resolve this on-line will be fruitless.  You will be better served I believe to have an open minded and calm discussion with your surgeon.  Your surgeon should be open minded to your concerns and wishes and you should be open minded to textured implants.  Many surgeons prefer textured implants because they can feel more natural (a "one breast feel"), move with, rather than independent of, the breast, and have a lower rate of capsular contracture.

You should discuss this with your doctor as to why the change may have been made.  There may be a good reason that he/she did change the type of implant used. Some surgeons will use textures and some will use smooth. There are advantages and disadvantages to both of them. 

I am sorry to hear about the concerns you have after breast augmentation surgery. Unfortunately, online consultants will not be of much help to you in regards to answering your questions precisely. My best advice would be that you communicate your questions/concerns to your plastic surgeon directly in a calm and constructive fashion. Remember, that despite the difference in texture of breast implants  utilized, it is probable that you will be pleased with the long-term outcome of the procedure performed. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question.  I am very sorry to hear of your distress and I understand.  There may be some logical explanation that caused the surgeon to make that decision.  I agree it is a good sign that the surgeon was honest with you and confided about the change.It is very important to maintain a good relationship with your surgeon and returned and ask for a reasonable explanation.  If you're unsatisfied with that explanation then it would seem to me that you are entitled to have the implants exchanged for the ones that you chose.  However if you're happy with the result there may be some advantage to textured implants.
