Normal To Get Brown Spots on Face After Yag Laser? How Do I Get Rid of Them? (photo)

Twenty four hours ago, I had Ng:Yag laser treatment only on the brown spots on my face (all over) and my skin looks HORRIBLE. I look like I have the measles, but the good news is that I'm not in pain or swollen. Am I going to be scarred? What can I do to make sure I don't scar? She only gave me a topical cream to apply twice a day. She is an MD and has been working with lasers for a long time - although she did burn my friend.

the gold standard treatment for brown spots is BBL + halo or fraxel, individual spot treatments with yag is old school and can leave hyperpigmentation and redness. I would suggest proper wound healing at this time (see my emeragecosmetics.com healing package) then after about 3 weeks do a virtual consultation for cosmelan peel which you shoudl have done first.  do not do this again its best too get wide area treatment for better cosmetic results.
Hyperpigmentation from any type needs a combination approach of peels like cosmelan,  lasers like clear and brilliant and aerolase or laser genesis, radiofrequency like venus viva, and constant skin care and sun protection.  Bimontly facials with silk peel dermalinfusion is essential to hydrate, exfoliate and infuse vitamins and antioxidants into the skin.  If you have acne you can do additional treatments and peels to get more improvement.  I suggest a formal consultation with an expert in lasers and peels. Thank you for your picture and your questions.  Minor crusting or scabbing of the treated areas are normal after a YAG treatment.  As the skin heals, in 7-14 days, the spots will slough off. Do not rub or pick at the scabs.  You can apply an antibacterial or moisturizing ointment and wash your face with a gentle soap, using your fingertips.  If you have concerns and questions, be sure to contact the person who did your treatment.

You look like you just had the Yag procedure. You have red marks everywhere that you had the Yag. It should take about a week for this to heal with a topical emollient. Please follow-up with your dermatologist with any questions and concerns.

What you describe is usually normal after Yag Laser therapy and may take a week or more to heal without sequela. However, if you have any concerns, you should always return to your treating physician for re-evaluation as soon as possible.
