Is petechiae common after CO2RE? (Photo)

I had co2re full face done 10 days ago and have been getting small spots of petechiae. Last night my face was itchy and I scratched the area thinking it was ok bc there was no scab there and when I looked in the mirror it looks like I have a hickey on my cheek. I'm devastated. Is this normal and what would help it to fade faster?

Your skin is baby skin and this can happen if you over traumatize the skin too soon after resurfacing.  Please see an expert if you are concerned.  Proper skin care is needed at this time.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is still relatively early days, depending on the settings of CORE - this can be done as a fully ablative laser or a fractional laser with the highest density of 5%.  This is still very early days following co2 laser, and I always warn patients they maybe red-pink for 4-6 weeks or even longer if fully ablative co2 was performed. New skin has just started to reform, so its extra sensitive to bruising.
