How long until I can hold my baby after explant?

I'm planning on explant in May, my baby will be 5 months, maybe 15 lbs. no capsule removal, under sedation. How long until I can care for him myself?

This question is best answered by your surgeon who is most familiar with the details of your surgery and how you've been progressing through recovery.  Generally lifting restrictions are in place for up to six weeks following surgery.  Your surgeon will advise what is best based on your circumstances.

Your plastic surgeon will always be your best guide when it comes returning to specific activities. He/she will know exactly what procedure was performed and how you are progressing.  Based on your description however I think that you will be back to childcare activities approximately one week after the procedure is performed; again, best to run this question by your plastic surgeon.
