Can the CoolMini procedure be done to the ankle area and what would the cost be/how many treatments would it take? (photos)

I have read that liposuction is not really recommended for this area, the regular CoolSculpting applicator is too large, and Kybella is about to be FDA approved for the area but not practiced enough and might be cost prohibitive. I have had "cankles" my whole life, regardless of weight.. I am 5'4" 125lbs at the moment. Thanks!!

We have had success treating the ankles with CoolSculpting in our practice. We typically use a combination of the CoolMini and CoolAdvantage Petite applicators in a customized pattern to fit your unique body and fat growth pattern.I advise finding a practice with experience treating this area to ensure a desired outcome. Coolsculpting applicators, regardless of shape, unfortunately won't work around the ankles. Coolsculpting is best for very distinct, "grabbable" or "pinchable" areas of stubborn fat, like the stomach and love handles.  Even if you could get the Cool Mini to suck sufficient tissue to adhere, you may then be left with an awkward dent the shape of the applicator in an area like that.  I wouldn't recommend trying Coolsculpting on the ankle area.

CoolSculpting is not meant to treat fat around the ankles. Kybella ( Belkyra in Canada ) or radio-frequency treatments would be good options. All the best, Dr.Michon
