Alterations in the position of the nipples or areolae can be completed with revision breast surgery. Moving the nipples higher is usually easier than moving them down however. If the nipples look too high, it often requires the adjustment of the IMF (inframammary fold or crease). This can be done with either an internal capsular adjustment if you have an implant or removal of excess skin at the bottom of the breast.
There are a variety of techniques to reposition the nipples from nipple transposition procedures to altering the placement of the implant. Photos and/or a physical exam would be really helpful to answer your question.
If the nipple position is too high in relation to the distance from the collarbone to the nipple, there is little that can be done except skin graft or rearrange tissue to get more skin above the nipple. However for many women with concerns about nipple position, the nipple is not too high on the chest, but it's just too high compared to the amount of skin/breast tissue below the nipple. This can happen if an implant settles too low or the breast tissue drops too much after a breast lift. This kind of nipple problem can be fixed by repositioning the implant or breast tissue and providing support to the lower breast. I hope this information is helpful for you to decide if your nipple can be lowered. It's difficult to answer directly without seeing photos.
Thank you for your question. It would be helpful to have photographs of your breasts for the best answer for you. However if you have had breast augmentation with breast implants and your nipples look to high in most cases you have what is called "bottoming out". In this situation the breast implants have simply moved to low on your chest wall beneath the nipple areola, are pushing the nipples upward, and since the volume of your breast is now below the nipple areola the nipples look to high.If this is the case then a revision may be able to re-create your inframammary crease and position the implants higher to a more natural looking location which will create fullness both above and below the nipple and the nipples will look more appropriately placed. For proper diagnosis and recommendations please see a plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, who is experienced in revision breast cosmetic surgery, and has an excellent reputation in your community.
To be honest, it is difficult to best answer your question due to the few photos and the views submitted. If they are droopy you might consider an uplift but hard to tell from the photos.
I would have your surgeon look at this. The picture appears to show a visible portion of the permanent white periareolar suture located just to the right of the "bunched" up skin. This may be just a photo artifact, but I would recommend you have it checked.
Dear Kadey,The pectoralis muscle is connected to the sternum in the midline. Under the muscle implants cause the muscle to stretch and given this connection to the sternum it is very common to have discomfort there for a couple weeks. Always discuss your symptoms with your surgeon.
