I had an otoplasty operation 3 weeks ago, are my ears overcorrected? (photos)

Question

The first picture is 1 day after operation and the 2nd is 1 week after after operation and the third is 3 weeks after..My doctor said that he overcorrected my ears on purpose and i need to be patient and with the following weeks or months my ears will relax and come to a more physical position..I am concerned that they will not relax and i need your opinion if my progress is good.Thanks

You are actually the judge and jury on whether or not it is overcorrected since it is your goals that matter. We do have "norms" for measuring the distance of the helical rim from the head, but it is the patients goal we are trying to meet. Interestingly, it is more common for patients to complain of undercorrection than over correction. Nonetheless, I would agree with waiting for months before doing any final assessment as changes do occur.

Nothing definitive can be said about the success of an ear pinning one week after an otoplasty. You should wait at least 3 months for this.

It is early to judge whether the ears are overcorrected so continue follow up and give it several months.  Patients vary as to how they want their ears to look after otoplasty.  Thus far the fotos look good.
