I had a full tummy tuck with lipo a little over two weeks ago. I had my drains removed two days ago and notice that where my drains were on my pubic area is sore and more swollen. Is this normal?

Answer: Swelling after drain removal. Thank you for your question. It really depends. If it is only a little bit of swelling, this can be normal. However, if it is enough to make you uncomfortable, then chances are you may have a seroma or a fluid collection. This is something that can be taken care of in the office, but you should definitely have your Plastic Surgeon evaluate you sooner rather than later so that you do not get an infection and/or affect your overall wound healing. Depending on the amount removed or aspirated, this procedure may need to be done a couple of times to ensure that the fluid doesn't come back - but your PS will definitely be able to better help you. Best of luck!
