Would the Picosure laser work to flatten a raised scar?

Hi i have very soft slightly raised scars on my chin from cystic acne. Id like them to be smoother even though they are very small. Would the Picosure laser work to flatten a raised scar? Its hard to find the right laser in newcastle upon tyne.

Classically when we use any laser for scar revision, a combination of lasers are utilized, including the use of either 5-FU or kenalog.

Hi.  The Picosure focus treatment has shown some very positive results in the treatment of acne scarring and seems to work best on improving the appearance of pitted and "ice-pick" scars.  If you have raised scars, a better treatment option may be to try the Icon 1540 treatment which has been shown to "soften" some raised scars.  It may require several treatments and you may want to add some chemical peels to your regime.  The treatment of acne scars is very difficult and requires patience, but with the right modalities you can expect some improvements.  Best of luck to you!

PicoSure is FDA cleared for laser tattoo removal. Acne scar (ice pick or pitted) scars, but not raised scars are also treated with this device.
