Sculptra: Can collagen be as thick as the fat pad in cheeks?

Sculptra works by stimulation of collagen production to create and restore volume.   Also, this process tends to improve the quality and density of the skin.  The more volume loss, the more sculptra is needed to provide the desired results..  In general, women lose 2 cc of volume every year starting in their late twenties.  So replacement of this volume is best done early to prevent and provide the most youthful results.  Sculptra can also be combined with other fillers if a more immediate effect is desired.   Best of luck.

This is dependent on how much sculptra was used, but it won't necessarily be as thick as the fat pad in the cheeks before aging. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. Sculptra is a great filler which causes your body to generate collagen where it is injected. The thickness will depend on how many vials are injected. It would take a large amounts of vials for it to replicate the natural fullness of the cheek in youth. Not practical.Best wishes, Dr. Aldo

This means it takes longer to show results, but also that the results may last longer than other filler. When injection into the face, it stimulates your body to produce additional collagen, which will fill in the desired areas. For large volume replacement, it may be more practical to use fat or micronized fat to replace the lost volume. The key to restoring volume is to achieve a natural appearing augmentation.
