Can Botox in the eyes area cause loss or thinning of eyebrow hair?

Can Botox in the eyes area cause lost or thinking of eyebrows hair? I am noticing less hair in my eyebrows area , tiny empty spaces ..although I had heavy defined eyebrows my age is 35. This happens last two month the new thing that I had was Botox in the forehead and eyes area. What do you think?

I have been treating patients with Botox and Dysport for over a decade and of the thousands of treatments, I have never had a patient complain of thinning eyebrows. I have not seen any reports of this occurring. You may want to have your treating doctor report this to Allergan as a possible side effect. If anyone else has reported this, they would eventually have to list it as a side effect. As of right now, it seems that your symptoms are a coincidence.You should look into other possibilities such as a thyroid problem which could cause hair loss including eyebrow hair.

I do not believe that your hair loss is related to your Botox.  I recommend seeing a hair loss specialist if your symptoms persist.  Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your question. I don't believe this could be related to the Botox injections. Hair loss is not a side effect of Botox. I would schedule an appointment with your doctor if it gets worse to determine what the cause may be.

No, this isn't a typical side effect of Botox. If it persists, I recommend following up with a hair loss expert. Botox results resolve in 3-4 months. Hope this helps.

I have never heard of or seen this problem. I don’t believe Botox has any effect on hair growth. Perhaps there’s a metabolic problem causing your eyebrow issues (ex-hypothyroidism). I hope this helps.

Thinning eyebrow hair is not a complication of Botox.  There are medical conditions that can cause thinning eyebrows, so you may want to talk to your doctor to figure out what is triggering this recent problem.
