Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation#weakchin #chinimplant
You are a clear and undisputable case for augmentation genioplasty with a generous supply of bone grafting (eventually from the hip, iliac bone is the golden standard in massive supplies); the goal is to increase anteriorly and also inferiorly, performing a two-dimensional augmentation genioplasty. Do refrain from miraculous and office based procedures, chin implants and all that stuff, yours is a structural problem of the jaw suitable for two kind of approaches:-correcting only the contour: two-dimensional augmentation genioplasty-correcting the underbite as well: major orthognatig surgery
Hi, from the photo your chin is extremely weak and the mandibular angles are weak as well. I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Following my facial beauty principles that have been developed over the past 3 decades, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome lower face, chin and jaw line.Chin augmentation, using a silastic chin implant, to add forward projection to the chin that will create harmony and balance to the lower face. When the chin is weak, it creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, making the lower face look shorter, fullness of the lips are de-emphasized and early formation of a "double chin" occurs. I have found placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform the procedure in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.Augmentation of the mandibular angles using precise placement of ann off the shelf dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line.Hope this helps.
You might well be victim of a poorly planned and aesthetically wrongly judged geniplasty, as per the image you got a two-dimensional augmentation with the step-off method (which I dislike and may lead to problems, I prefer to fill the gap with natural and own patient's bone grafting);...
You are not AT ALL a case for liposuction at the neck, absolutely not. All the patients with weak chins have flaccid submental "hammock" due to the short distance of attachment of the floor-of-the-mouth musculature; this flaccid submental area is authomatically corrected after the OSSEOUS...
The direct answer is 'yes'. In fact there are circumstances which require that type of combination to achieve the proper projection and contour. The type of implant material can be modified as well.
