I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo 6 months ago - and these are the results. The dr says I have lots of visceral fat - that’s why the bulge has hardly decreased . Is this the truth ? If I lie down , my stomach is flat . I’m not pleased with the results at all . Will a revision work ? Is it possible to tighten the muscles more ? Thanks in advance .
Answer: Visceral fat From the photos it appears the culprit is visceral fat. This is the fat behind the muscle wall and cannot be addressed through a tummy tuck or liposuction. However you should see improvement in your results with weight loss.

Answer: Addressing Visceral Fat and Tummy Tuck Results Hello, THAFAB thank you for your question regarding whether your tummy tuck was botched and if a revision will work. Thank you for including your pictures. Your tummy tuck was not botched. From the pictures of you standing, it appears that you have a significant amount of visceral fat. The best way to objectively assess how much visceral fat you have is to get a Dexa body scan or body fat analysis. This will tell you what percent of your body is fat. I do not believe another tummy tuck or further muscle plication will make your abdomen any tighter. To get better results, you simply must lose weight, specifically visceral fat. The best way to lose visceral fat is through diet, intermittent fasting, calorie counting, and exercise. You might even consider weight loss medication like Ozempic or Zepbound. The best type of diet is probably the ketogenic diet, and you may also consider combining it with either Ozempic or Zepbound. Therefore, I would vote for a non-surgical approach to improve your tummy tuck results. I don’t think further abdominal liposuction or another tummy tuck will make your abdomen better. Good luck. I hope I have answered your question regarding how to revise your tummy after a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. Thank you for your question regarding tummy tuck results. Sincerely, J. Answer: Tummy tuck results Dear thafab, based on your photos, it looks like your surgeon is right. If you lose some visceral fat you will most likely get flat abdomen. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Abdomen Visceral fat cannot be removed with a tuck. If the muscles are over tightened, you will have difficulty eating and lots of reflux. I might suggest being checked for food allergies because this can also swell your abdomen. Surgery cannot fix that issue.
