I am currently a 12H and have fluctuated between 12G to 14G for the last 10 years. I have always been naturally heavy ranging from 80kg (size 10-12) to 95kg (size 16) even with these changes in weight my breasts have not changed much at all. I suffer from pain and grooves in my shoulders and Ribcage stabbing pains in right breast, pinching upper back and headaches at least four times a week. Would I qualify for a BR to reduce to a B/C cup? I will be applying under my insurance policy.
Answer: Breast Reduction Candidate? I'm sorry to hear about the problems your disproportionately large breasts cause. Based on your description and photos, you will likely be an excellent candidate for breast reduction surgery. This operation tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. When the time is right, I would suggest that you seek consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. Best to check directly with your insurance company to see whether breast reduction surgery is a “covered” benefit with your specific policy. Then, given that every insurance company has different “criteria”, best to identify exactly what your specific insurance company considers criteria for approval. Generally, the more documentation you have (for example, from your primary care doctor, physical therapist, chiropractor etc.) the better when it comes to obtaining insurance “authorization” for the procedure. This documentation and letter/pictures from your plastic surgeon will help you obtain authorization. Before undergoing the breast reduction procedure it will be very important to communicate your size goals with your surgeon. Most patients wish to achieve enough of a reduction to help with their symptoms while remaining proportionate with the remainder of their torso. With the goal of improving communication with my patients I find the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or “B/C cup” means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Best wishes with your breast reduction procedure; hopefully you will be very pleased with the outcome of the procedure performed.

Answer: Yes breast reduction Hello Abbie. Yes you like like an ideal candidate for a breast reduction. The surgery will certainly improve most, if not all, of your pain & discomfort. It is likely that your insurance will cover you, but check with them & your surgeon. Be sure to see an experienced plastic surgeon close to home, if possible. All the very best.

Answer: Breast Reduction Hi there Abbie and thanks for posting,The symptoms you describe are typical for patients with large breasts and are almost uniformly resolved with a breast reduction.Your photos also indicate that you are an ideal patient for a breast reduction. So you most certainly qualify as a great candidate for a breast reduction. Whether this will be covered with your insurance policy will depend on the requirements in NZ and your level of cover. Certainly in Australia you would be covered.Best wishesRichard
