Vaser lipo vs normal lipo? Who would be the best candidate for each procedure?

I have had a surgery 8yrs ago Tummy tuck, full lipo, and transfer to buttocks. I'm now 34 and looking to do my second surgery of lipo and slight bbl. I have been researching vaser lipo and wondering if you can tell me who would be the best candidate for this procedure and what are the benefits from Vaser vs. Normal lipo? Do you think one is better than the other and why?

Thank you for your question regarding the optimal candidate for vaser liposuction and the benefits of Vaser liposuction compared to traditional liposuction. Vaser Lipo was invented in the mid-1990s. The technology has been proven and established for years and used in tens and thousands of patients worldwide. The technology definitely works. Medical studies have shown that Vaser Lipo yields better results, less pain, and less bleeding compared to traditional Lipo. Optimal patients for Vaser versus traditional Lipo are patients with poor skin elasticity and patients looking for skin tightening. The vaser has many benefits, which include meltingly fat, as well as tightening the skin. There are very few Lipo machines that do both of these components. In my opinion, Vaser Lipo is the best form of liposuction. The Vaser is beneficial in performing liposuction with associated scar tissue. Traditional Lipo is difficult and is even more difficult in areas of scar tissue or repeat liposuction. There have also been many medical studies that show that fat harvested with the Vaser is still transplantable to the buttocks. Thanks for your question. Vaser Liposuction's healing time is faster than Traditional Liposuction. And Vaser can be performed on patients who doesn't have too much fat. Traditional Liposuction is best for the patient on the other end of the spectrum. Since you have had Tummy Tuck and Liposuction before, Vaser Liposuction will be a better option for your case. It's not a question of better, they are just different. Many patients do great with traditional liposuction, which eliminates the added step, complexity, time of using VASER. VASER is a great addition to liposuction in a number of patients. In my practice, I use VASER for revision liposuction cases, as well as primary liposuction in certain ethnicities (some ethnicities have more fibrous fat that is better treated with VASER), and certain areas where fat tends to be very tough and fibrous (such as flanks and chest in men).

Thanks for the question. I have read your question and the responses given and agree with my colleagues in terms of the usefulness of vaser over traditional liposuction.
For what you are looking for, having a BBL, you would need to consider how much fat you will harvest. Vaser Lipo is useful in that it separates the fat from the body using ultrasonic sound waves. This vibration helps to separate fat cells, making them much more viable for transfer.

Following the use of vaser, I personally do feel a tightening treatment should be considered - like renuvion (j-plasma) or body tite (radiofrequency) for example, which help to tighten the surrounding skin and enable better contouring.

Traditional liposuction has its merits but generally modalities such as laser/ vaser or ultrasound assisted liposuction make the process of traditional liposuction easier by helping to separate more fat cells.

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HI-DEF VASER Liposuction and can only be done by a well-trained body contouring specialist. At the same time, fat should be harvested and purified, with PRP and stem cells added, and then injected into muscles, indentations and cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. For a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), we inject the fat into the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with a combination of QWO or Cellfina, subcision, and/or fillers such as Bellafill, Renuva synthetic fat, or Sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery, then it will need to be removed: tummy tuck/abdominoplasty for lower abdominal skin; breast lift for excess breast skin; and/or a brachioplasty for loose arm skin.

Let's briefly review the anatomy- Most areas of our bodies have three distinct layers of fat: superficial (top layer), intermediate (middle layer), and deep (lowest layer). The deep layer of fat sits on the muscles. Traditional (non-VASER) liposculpting is meant to debulk the deep fat layers. VASER, on the other hand, can be performed throughout all three fatty layers. This not only allows for maximal fat removal/extraction, but also introduces the realm abdominal etching which allow your muscle definition to come to life. Anyone who is liposuction candidate is Vaser candidate. Vaser is more advanced tool, and will help to get through scar tissue from old lipo, will help to make fat better for transfer as well.
