Ive lost a lot of volume under my eyes since taking accutane 4 years ago. I’m considering getting a rhinoplasty, however my concerns are that it might sink in myunder eyes even more. I am also concerned about the fat pads along side my smile Lines, its dragging down my face. Is there a procedure I can have done to correct this along with a rhinoplasty? Thanks!
Answer: How you may benefit from volume restoration Thank you for your question and photos. While rhinoplasty will not affect the area under your eyes, you don’t appear to need aesthetic changes to your nose at this time. You may want to consider dermal filler or a facial fat transfer to restore volume under your eyes and create a smooth and supple transition from the lower lid to the upper cheek area. Should you still consider rhinoplasty, please keep in mind that it is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to discuss your concerns with you and help you decide on the best treatment option.

Answer: Rhinoplasty affecting eyes? A well performed rhinoplasty should not have any effect on the eyes, so refining the tip of the nose should look good. The easiest thing to try first with regards to hollowness under the eyes and the cheek folds is filler. If placed properly, filler can blunt the creases and fill the hollowness nicely. There are procedures to lift the cheeks as well, but I would try fillers first.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos the rhinoplasty surgery will not affect your under eye area. For the under eye area you may need fat injection for the volume and get rid of the dark circles. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Work on the nose would not change those other two areas. More ... Although, sometimes, changing what the nose looks like can change how you *perceive* the under-eye area or the smile lines, but they almost certainly wouldn't *actually* change. Especially since, as I see your nose from these images, it would be mostly the tip that is altered, right? You didn't post any three-quarter views, and it's those 3/4 views that usually best show the width of the tip. Finally, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs, particularly work on the tip, require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. For most noses, it's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. And it also discusses how to take photos that are best for online evaluations.

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgery should not change the appearance of your under eyes. That said, you appear to have relatively thin nasal skin and an overall pleasing nasal appearance. Since you didn't mention what's bothering you about your nose, it's not clear whether rhinoplasty surgery is a good idea. Insofar as your under eyes go, injectable fillers may be helpful. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
