I got a rhinoplasty in July 2020 and had a crooked nose and hump before. I wanted to nose to be straightened and get rid of the hump. I got a closed rhinoplasty and received a cast but never had splints inside my nose. After the nose healed, it is still crooked and is worse and more prominent than before. Is this something I can get fixed? I am very insecure about it and its been 2 years. Can my former doctor do a revision at a discount? Is there a way to fix without surgery or no?
Answer: What you should know about revision rhinoplasty Thank you for your question and for providing photos. It is possible for a revision rhinoplasty procedure to create a straighter, less prominent appearance. This may involve grafts to provide adequate support and achieve the desired result. Being that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors, the importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history and concerns to determine the best approach and help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Use crooked after rhinoplasty At this point your only good option is an open rhinoplasty revision in which the cartilagesnmaking up the bottom 2/3 of the nose are released from scar tissue and realigned. Cartilage grafts taken from the septum can brace the nose to improve symmetry. However cartilage has a memory and it is impossible to promise perfect symmetry. Nevertheless Inam confident the nose coukd be improved in the hands of a surgeon experienced in revision rhinoplasty.

Answer: A revision should address other issues besides the crookedness. More ... Only correcting a frontal asymmetry is often very difficult. However, if there are other issues that you'd want improved, (for example you mention that the nose is more prominent than before surgery) then sometimes correcting those other issues gives us more options, more surgical techniques, for improving the asymmetry at the same time. The photos you posted are only frontal views, which of course show a frontal asymmetry best, but the first of the photos seems to indicate that there is still a bump, or perhaps excess width at the top of the nose, and I can't tell what other issues there might be. Would love to see the profile and three-quarters views. About your primary surgeon performing the revision, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. For most noses, it's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. And for those who have had previous surgery, it also discusses how to tell whether your first surgeon should be performing your revision. And it also discusses how to take photos that are best for online evaluations.
