I would ask your surgeon if he or she feels this is normal based upon how you are healing and your starting point.
It really is hard to say. Before and afters would be helpful. There is often "lumpiness" that resolves with massage and time after liposuction and a BBL. It seems like you might have some excess skin which could improve or may require excision in the future (we typically wait at least 6 months before doing that if needed). I think the best thing to do is bring your concerns to your surgeon. Openly and honestly and he or she should be able to put your mind at ease and address them safely and to your satisfaction. I hope this helps!
Thanks for your question.Try not to use the word "perfection" in any portion of plastic surgical results...it does not exist! (Referring to your login name). You are still swollen, so it will change with the passage of time...months. However, without a physical exam and at least pre-op photos, it is difficult to diagnose what's going on. It may be normal swelling, a collection of fluid (seroma), natural issues with your anatomy (muscle separation, excess skin, convexity of your abdominal muscles...etc). Return to your surgeon for their opinion, and if unsatisfied, see another surgeon for their opinion (but wait a month, you're still in the early phases of healing). You may consider a massage just to see if it affects it.Best of luck with your continued healing.Dr T
A lot of information is missing. Preop photos would be helpful. What did your abdomen look like before surgery. You are likely swollen still. You may eventually need a tummy tuck when the swelling subsides.
Some patients are better candidate than others. Some surgeons are better than others. The best results are always going to come from someone who is an ideal candidate and has their procedure done by someone with true expertise. It appears you have muscle separation from previous pregnancies and some skin laxity. If paragraph both of these make you slightly less than ideal candidate.Perhaps the fence removal could've been done a little more evenly. It's a little hard to tell.Your body post is a little off and how you took your picture.Without an examination, before pictures or knowing how your procedure was performed no one can give you an accurate answer if this is normal. Results are never perfect or a failure but rather somewhere on the spectrum.Your results are normal for you based on what you look like before your procedure and how your procedure was performed.Too many variables for any of us to give you a straight answer.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
It is less about where the incision is made and more about where the fat is delivered.Kenneth Hughes, MD
Dear finelikewine, the optimal weight to have BBL is a very common question and for good reason. Having surgery before you reach your target weight can lead to suboptimal results if you were to lose more weight after surgery. Good first questions to ask yourself are: 1. Am I at my goal weight? 2....
