Can I attend a friend's wedding party 3 weeks after deep plane face lift?

I think there are two different questions here.  First, can you attend.  Sure, after three weeks you should be pain free, the majority of the initial swelling and usually all of the bruising are resolved, there should be no medical or comfort reason that you could not attend your friend's wedding.  Second, will you want to attend?  This is one only you can answer.  With a deep plane lift you will almost certainly have some discernable swelling present three weeks after surgery.  There will still be some swelling from the rhinoplasty.  Incisions will be managable with makeup but visible without.  If you are a person who does not want your friends to know you had surgery you may want to skip this event.

It is best to talk to your surgeon: everybody has a slightly different technique and recovery time. My standard facelift is a deep plane, and would be confident that my patients would feel comfortable socially at 3 weeks.  People can reliably return to work in 2 weeks.

Most of the swelling from your facelift will have subsided by the end of your second post-op week. You shouldn’t be sore or uncomfortable at all. Any residual swelling can be hidden with some makeup and a great hairstyle. I hope this helps.

I like to tell my patients that if they are not back out in public at the 7-10 day point, I am somewhat disappointed. That being said, there may be notable swelling and bruising in some patients. This can be covered to a large extent with makeup. People who don't know you won't do a double take. People who do know you may notice that you are a little puffy. At three weeks, the vast majority of people are very presentable if all goes well, but you will have some swelling. In these circumstances, I tell patients that they probably will be ok, but I cannot make guarantees.

Thank you for your question.  After 3 weeks you should look presentable for public view.  You shouldn't have must bruising and typically the incisions should have healed by about 2-2.5 weeks, so you can put make up on them to disgust.  I would suggest wearing your hair down and the incisions may still be slightly noticeable.  Please remember every patient does heal at different rates, so its best to aways prepare for the worse.  If you take is easy after your surgery and follow your surgeons protocol, this should help when healing.  All The Best 

How do you want to look at the party?
Most patients are presentable at 1 week to 10 days but have bruising and swelling at that time. By 3 weeks patient are looking good but still swollen. By 6 weeks most patients look excellent. The final result is at 3 months. 

Thank you for the question. This sort of thing comes up all the time. In general, three weeks is plenty of time for a social gathering. However, it depends on exactly what you and your surgeon have planned. The procedures that you mention are all part of a comprehensive approach I use in my practice as well. If you were having this done with me, I would advise you that three weeks is fine. Your incisions around the ears may still be a little pink/inflamed. But you can you makeup to camouflage this. Lastly, there may be a little residual swelling from the fat grafting, depending on how much is used and where it is placed. Take care.

You should be fine to attend a wedding 3 weeks after facelift surgery.  Recovery does vary amongst patients. 

Facelift when accompanied with other facial surgical procedures ( like brow lift, buccal fat removal, etc) is generally associated with prolonged swelling and bruising that could last up to 4 to 5 weeks. Therefore, patients who have social events just 3 weeks after surgery could potentially attend the event but for sure they won't have all the swelling and bruising gone so people will inmediately noticed that surgery was performed. 

That is quite a bit of surgery to have at once.  The answer depends on how extensive the individual surgeries will be. If you are having an open rhinoplasty, you will definitely still have noticeable swelling at 3 weeks.  Your facelift incisions will still be visible, but you can cover them with makeup. There will be significant facial swelling from the facelift and fat transfer at 3 weeks.  You certainly CAN go to a wedding party in 3 weeks, but the question is will you fee comfortable.  You will just have to wait and see. Discuss this specifically with your surgeon.
