What in your view is the best way to position the Coolsculpting applicators for me to get the best results? (photo)

In my opinion you are not a good candidate for CoolSculpting. You seem to have a combination of fat and loose skin are are over your ideal body weight. With 4 large applicators you will be spending a lot of money and seeing minimal result. I would save your money. Make sure you see an experienced physician who can guide you toward the most appropriate treatment for you. Don't take the word of a nurse or tech. Best wishes.

It is hard to tell without pictures what is the best way to position applicators. Discuss your concerns with your provider. If it is experienced and reputable provider, then they should know what they are doing. You need to relax and look forward seeing your results. Your initial results should be visible after 8 weeks, while it may take longer. If you have sagging skin, coolsculpting will not address this problem. You will have to consider different treatments. It would appear that you have chosen CoolSculpting as an alternative to surgery.  Many people make this choice, and can be very happy with the results that CoolSculpting will provide. The best possible candidate for CoolSculpting is someone who is 10-20 pounds from their goal weight. It is important to have reasonable expectations.  Looking at your pictures, it would appear that you have some overhang and some degree of skin laxity.  You may find that there will be loose skin post treatment with Coolsculpting.  In addition, it would appear that you will need up to three treatments with CoolSculpting to achieve the best results.  
Regarding the placement of the Coolsculpting applicators, I'm sure that what your provider is describing is a diamond shape around the navel.  They will treat both your upper and lower abdomen using two CoolMax or CoolMax Advantage Plus applicators.  These applicators will most likely follow the line of your bulges as they are naturally found in your body.  The bottom two will be placed one after the other, side by side and form a wide 'V".  The upper abdomen will also be treated with two large applicators, and form an inverted"V". They would not want to place any applicators vertically, as they would not follow the natural lines of your body, and would leave a very unnatural result once the fat has gone.

You may not benefit significantly from Coolsculpting. Coolscupting only treats fat cells and not sagging skin. It is important to choose experienced provider who will determine if you are a good candidate and at the same time s/he will know the right applicator placement as well. If you proceed with Coolsculpting, your initial results should be visible after 8 weeks, while it may take longer. You will need number of treatments to see some improvements. Again when it comes to the sagging skin, coolsculpting will not address this problem. You will have to consider different treatments. CoolSculpting works for each individual if it meets the results he/she expects. CoolSculpting removes up to 20-25% of fat cell reduction in the treated area. As long as you understand that the CooSculpting will not improve the skin laxity and that one treatment will not do the trick. I understand that surgery is not the first option for some patients but it's great to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn about your non-surgical and surgical options. The correct position of CoolSculpting applicators has to do with the orientation of your skin and the way your fat will be treated most effectively.  I would make sure the person you are seeing has been to CoolSculpting University where they teach the procedure properly.  In my opinion, I would not even do CoolSculpting on you.  You have a combination of fat and loose skin, the latter of which will not be improved with the procedure.    CoolSculpting will only kill 20-25% of your fat cells and I just don't think it will make that much of a difference to you.  Having realistic expectations is important for this procedure.  If you are adamant about not undergoing surgery (really the only option), you may want to do 2-3 sessions of CoolSculpting in the exact same location.  If that is true, I would not try to "get" the upper and lower abs at the same time in a vertical positioning of the applicators because that is not the way your fat lays. If you are unsure about what your practitioner is recommending, go get a second opinion.  Don't spend your money in a place you do not trust.

Hello! Placement of the applicators varies person to person. It is very common to use the large (Max) applicator  across the bottom and on the top of the abdomen in a diamond like shape. This applicator is great for de bulking and de volumizing the abdomen.  Unfortunately, I do not think you are the best candidate for coolsculpting as it appears you have loose skin and may be slightly out of the ideal weight range for achieving great results. I would save your money and put it towards something that will fix your skin and get the volume loss your are looking for. Good Luck!

Unfortunately it appears from the photograph that you are not a great candidate for Coolsculpting due to the skin laxity and and the extent of the fat in the area.  It also appears that you may even have a hernia in that area.  Please consult a physician who is an expert in Coolsculpting.  Many spas have non-physicians doing the consultations and are doing you a disservice by treating you with Coolsculpting which will be so costly with so many areas that they are recommending.  Please consult a board certified dermatologist who is an expert in Coolsculpting in a certified practice.  Best, Dr. Green

The most common way I use cool sculpting applicators to treat the entire abdomen is to use either the medium or small size in a diamond-shaped arrangement. Horizontal application of four large applicators seems unusual. Furthermore, it looks like you have loose skin and intra-abdominal fat. The ideal procedure in the situation is a tummy tuck.

If you go through with Coolsculpting you need to position them as suggested.  They work that way because of the way the skin stretches to allow the best pull-in of the fatty tissue.Coolsculpting doesn't seem like a good value for you.  Perhaps you should consider some other options?Your issues are intra abdominal fullness and muscle and skin laxity, not just fullness under the skin surface of the abdomen.  Your results from Coolsculpting are likely to be underwhelming.  Perhaps reconsider?
