First time Botox. When the doctor says it lasts 2-3 months for first time pt, does that mean 2-3 months from injection?

Hello and congratulations on your first Botox treatment! This injectable treatment takes about two weeks to produce your full results, although you will likely see some improvement soon after your appointment. Most of our patients enjoy their refreshed appearance for three to four months, starting at the point when full results become evident. Some patients find that if they schedule regular treatment sessions, they can begin to extend a bit longer between injections over time. However, there is no guarantee that will be the case.

In my experience, in Orange County, Botox lasts between 3-6 months from the time of injection.  It depends on the dosing and location however, which can usually be increased if at least 3 months isn't achieved.  Some area, such as the forehead and lips, need to be kept at a low dose and cannot always last 3 months.

I would say that Botox does last about 2-3 months from the time of injection for the first time patient.  The longevity of the result can depend on the dose used however, and I have seen an effect from Botox last 4 months or sometimes even a bit longer.  

Hi,Thank you for your question. Botox has a dose dependent duration and typically lasts about 3-4 months between the eyebrows and at the crow's feet. The forehead itself tends to last a little bit less (2-3 months) because it's the only brow elevator and most injectors will avoid over-treatment of the frontalis muscle to minimize the risk of heaviness.I think most injectors don't differentiate between the 1-2 weeks from the treatment day to the day of maximal result (2 weeks). As others have mentioned, the results of Botox will gradually wear off around 3 months or sooner for area that require fewer units.Hope this helps!

Thank you for submitting your questions and concerns.Botox is an injection that lasts from 3 to 6 months. I does not go away over night it gradually fades till the injected protein is no longer in the muscle. Best of luck. 

Hi, thank you for your question. Some patients being seeing results 3-7 days after injection and peak results are around 14 days. You may enjoy these full effects for approximately 3-4 months. I hope this information helps!

Botox generally lasts about 3 months however depending on how it was injected, what the dosage is, how it was diluted -it can last longer or shorter than 3 months. Some people find they need more units as they age or that it does not last as long.

When you have Botox injected it will reach its peak of effectiveness at one month. That doesn't mean that it stops working, only that at one month you will gradually begin to get movement back. In general most patients will see full movement return at 3-4 months.

When you are treated with Botox, the full effects are usually seen at the two weeks follow up. 
You would then come back 2-3 months from the time Botox has reached full effect, or when you can see the results of Botox wearing off, which is most commonly around 2-4 months after your first treatment.

You will see the maximum effects of Botox approximately two weeks after injection.  The effect of Botox should usually continue for 3-4 months after the first treatment.  As you continue with a regimen of regular injections you may notice that effects last for a longer period of time.  Thank you for your question!
