Hi Neymito,If your eyes are hollow or shows a lot of eyelids, upper eyelid filler can help make the brow more hooded, but may not be able to make the eyes completely hooded like an Asian person. If the person was hooded when they were younger and became more hollow with aging or weight loss resulting in more eyelid show, then the upper eyelid filler can help reverse some of the changes that had occurred. I have been performing upper eyelid volumization since 2006 using fat grafting originally. Around 2008, I began using Restylane which was the first Hyaluronic acid filler approved for use in the United States in 2004 for smile lines (15 years ago.) I have since completely stopped using fat for the upper eyelid area and exclusively use hyaluronic acid fillers. Some my previously fat grafted patients, I have since surgically removed their fat grafts and replaced them with hyaluronic acid fillers. Fillers in this area can last many years, and I have patients who have had a single filling session which lasted 3-6 years before wanting a touch up to add some additional volume. This may be due to aging or weight loss or used of eyelash enhancers which can cause eyelid fat loss (which is reversible) or perhaps they have had a non-surgical skin tightening treatment such as Thermage, Ultherapy, or other Radiofrequency microneedling which can cause facial fat loss. My technique for Upper eyelid filling has evolved three times since 2008 to minimize irregularities and lumping. It seems to be an easy procedure, but not as straightforward are filling lips or smile lines. This is one of my signature procedures for my practice and not just another “area” that I happen to treat like lips and smile lines. I hope you found this answer helpful.
