Can I do Subcision, 3 months post Accutane treatment? (photos)

According to the latest recommendations, minor surgical procesures, such as subcision, can even be performed while someone is still on Accutane and certainly even shortly following its discontinuation. And incidentally, from the photos, it appears that subcision would be the treatment of choice for the kinds of  rolling and boxcar-type scars that appear to be present. I also commend you for having done your due diligence and deciding upon subcision (which is a simple, effective, time-tested and relatively inexpensive approach to these kinds of acne scars), rather than falling prey to the heavy device manufacturer supported marketing and adverising hype for the relatively expensive, far less proven, bells and whistles out there, like fraxels, radiofrequency devices and ultrasound machines. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck to you.

The  new consensus recommendations allow for  subcision while on Accutane or if it is recently completed. Treatment at 3 months is certainly acceptable. Find an acne scar expert using the cannula technique.

I have treated people 1 month after accutane/isotretinoin with subcision with no issues, but would say 3 months after would be the safest option. Most importantly is to ensure an expert dermatologist does the subcision for optimal results & safety; this is not a salon/spa treatment.

You are a great candidate for subcision and you definitely can have the procedure performed now.  I would encourage you to find an expert in this process which would be ideal for you.  Due to the scars you would need fillers at the same time as the subcision to improve the appearance.  Please consult an expert in acne scars and treatment for the best cosmetic results.
