How can I get a more v shaped jaw to give me a more feminine facial appearance?

Question

I had FFS about a month ago. Specifically, I had Rhinoplasty, jaw reduction, forehead reduction, hairline lowering, and lip reduction. I would like my jawline to be more narrow.

Misty, The first  thing I would recommend is nothing.  Just wait.  Jaw reduction causes A LOT of swelling that lasts for A LONG time.  I would not make any assessments until at least 6 months have passed.  Even then you will still get some improvement until up to a year (though most will happen in the first 6 months).  After 6 months the first thing I would recommend is ask your surgeon if he removed any of your masseter muscles.  If not try botox therapy a couple times.  This can really atrophy the muscles and slim your jawline.  If that does not give you the change you are looking for the last step would to consider a revision surgery to remove more bone.  Again you will have to deal with months of swelling, but if the shape of your jaw bothers your every day it might be worth it.  First, though, wait.  This is the hardest part of the recovery for almost everyone.  Good luck.  -Dr. Rolfes

Mistyjensen,You may have swelling going on. However, it may be a large masseter muscle (especially if you had jawline shaping).  I'd suggest getting examined and considering botox for that if it's a large muscle.  We can also reduce the size of the muscle and bone if needed.

If a personal evaluation determines you have an strong maseter muscle , then it can be reduced too. Usually with botox
