I received botox on 3/1 for the first time. I was worried about touching my face, so I held off on washing it and moisturizing until 3/4. How do I know if I'm applying too much pressure when I'm doing my skincare routine? I'm terrified of moving things and adversely effecting my results. Am I in the safe zone where rubbing is okay and won't move things, or should I be extra careful for 2 weeks? Is it also worrisome to have a heavy feeling in one eye 2 days after?

Answer: No issues at this time Great question! You can safely rub your face as hard as you want at the moment. You just don't want to do too much for about 4 hours after the injection such as strenuous activities, but just to be safe I tell patients to take it easy until the next day. But since you're already 3 days out, there is no concern at all the now. You can resume all you were doing before the injections.Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Avoid rubbing face for 4 hours after Botox or Jeuveau You should avoid rubbing the treated areas with Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport or Xeomin for just 4 hours after treatment. It is fine to wash your face and rub after that. I do caution my Orange County Botox patients to avoid facials and microdermabrasion for 2 days afterwards, just to be sure.
