I had an otoplasty 4.5 months ago. My doctor said he could further pin back the entire rim of my ear (on the left) with an incisionless technique to make it more symmetrical with my other ear (on the right). Do you believe an incisionless otoplasty will be effective? Addionally, I’ve read that an incisionless otoplasty relies on the sutures surviving, and if one of them ruptures years down the line that will compromise the result. Is that accurate? Thank you!

The result is unsatisfactory as the upper helix edge is still bent forward like a shovel. This can be corrected minimally invasively with the Merck Stitch Method, without having to cut open the ear.
Unfortunately, I was unable to see any photos. However, if you do have a spitting stitch, it’s best to return to your surgeon so they can resolve the situation. They’ll most likely just remove or trim it. It’s a good idea to get this addressed earlier than later, to minimize the risk of infection.
Yours is not that pointy or even noticeable so I would leave it alone. Removing the tubercle is simple but difficult to get exactly the right contour and that could look weird so I advise against it.
