I'm about 5 months post Otoplasty and it appears that I have a white stitch that is sticking out of my left ear, (circled in red). It isn't painful or irritated but I have been applying vaseline on it just as a method to prevent irritation. Is this something that I should be concerned about, and should I see a surgeon to fix it, or can I just ignore it and it will heal over on its own? Thank you.

Yours is not that pointy or even noticeable so I would leave it alone. Removing the tubercle is simple but difficult to get exactly the right contour and that could look weird so I advise against it.
The technique I recommend is partial conchal bone resection. This technique is easy to perform and produces symmetrical, predictable permanent results.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Depending upon the type of stitch and where it's located, you may need this to be surgically removed. It often can be done under local anesthetic. Please be sure to seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced with otoplasty surgery.Good luck!
