Thank you for your interesting question. Since there is a need to create small tunnels to accommodate the Renuvion cannula, there is inevitably minimal mechanical trauma to the subcutaneous tissue. Some fat does need to be removed and there will be some loss of subcutaneous fat layer. Renuvion uses cold helium plasma and RF energy which ensures a high degree of precision and minimal thermal effect on surrounding tissue. In the hands of an experienced Plastic/Cosmetic surgeon, one can expect optimal cosmetic results. Hope this helps!

Does J Plasma without lipo scar or harm the subcutaneous tissue?Great question.Yes tunnels must be created but no fat removal is not a necessary component of the procedure. Some fat(minor amount) will be lost by mechanical trauma from the tunnels but the helium protects against heat generated fat loss. In sum, I routinely use J Plasma/Renuvion for skin shrinkage without fat removal. Success is more a function of skin quality and quantity than the small incremental fat loss. Adjunct skin shrinkage procedures can be "layered" in order to optimize skin shrinkage.In sum, I believe that J Plasma/Renuvion not only does NOT harm the subcutaneous tissues but in fact leaves them rejuvenated, having removed damaged or inflamed components.
