Open mouth sneezing after rhinoplasty. Can you damage rhinoplasty 8 days post op from sneezing through your mouth?

I had cadaver cartilage used during the procedure and some reshaping of the bone. This AM, I sneezed hard through my mouth, and even though I didn't sneeze through my nose, I feel like something in my nose shifted. I could be imagining this, hard to tell because of the swelling. Dr also cleaned the inside of nose & removed cast yesterday . My question is, can you damage the result of rhinoplasty by sneezing through your mouth 8 days post-op? If so, why?

Sneeezing throught your mouth is the preferred method of sneezing following rhinoplasty and expecially internal nasal work.  You likely did no harm to your nose and the healing will take place uneventfully.  I would exercise more caution with your nose as cadaveric cartilage will take a little longer to stabilize in your nose compared to your own cartilage grafts.

It is possible to move your grafts even when sneezing through the mouth, although it is unlikely. Please have your surgeon examine your nose to make sure that everything is in place. All The Best !
