I have had this same hairline since I was about 30. I'd like to fill in the side to match the center part of my hairline. Could someone tell me what Norwood scale they think I am and how many grafts I would need to fill in the hairline?
Answer: Hair transplant surgery is not about "how many grafts" you need, but about how a doctor can match your goals and expectations. Hair transplant surgery is not about "how many grafts" you need, but about how a doctor can match your goals and expectations. You may look like a Norwood 3 but even with 2000 grafts you may not be happy because your "expectations" may not be realistic.

Answer: What Norwood scale am I and how many grafts would I need? I'm a 40 year old male. Hard to assign a classification and graft count estimate without seeing what's under your hand. If you just want to fill in the front/hairline area I would guess at least 1600 but you'd be better served by an in-person evaluation.

Answer: Hair transplant Thank you for asking this question. As you haven’t sent the picture of the vertex and so assuming that you have hair there, you are at stage 3 in reference to Hamilton-Norwood scale and an ideal candidate for an anterior hairline correction. You require around 2000 to 2200 grafts to re-build the hairline completely. You can opt for either of the techniques, viz, FUT or FUE, as according to the pictures you have a decent density and quality of the hair. Good luck! Regards, Dr. Amit Gupta

Answer: Norwood classification It is impossible to tell from the pictures but do you have any thinning in the crown? From the looks of your hair loss that I can see you appear to be in the range of a 3-4. You would need roughly 1800-2000 grafts to restore your frontal hairline.

Answer: Norwood scale You are a Class 3A pattern of balding with a persistent forelock. This generally takes about 2000 grafts to return the hairline, less if the hair is coarse
