When will my nipples stop being erected or will they stay like this forever?

I had the areola incision, 3 weeks post BA and my nipples are erected 24/7 or most of the time. Does this ever go away, if so when? or am I stuck with erected nipples until forever or who knows when? they are way more sensitive post BA.

At this point in your recovery, it is much too soon to be worried about the outcome. It takes time for the implants to settle into position and the skin and muscle to stretch out to accommodate the new implant. It may be 6 months or more before the shape has reached its final look. Be patient.

It is very common to have complaints of nipple sensitivity and even erection after an augmentation. The nipple has been pushed into a more prominent position and needs time to adjust to the new stimulation. This should resolve in a few more weeks.  Good luck.

Patients whom have large nipples often get even more erect nipples after surgery.  We often recommend considering nipple reductions in these patients.  It can be done under local anesthesia now.  Otherwise you will have "Headlights On " look always.  Hypersensitivity can be inproved by Vitamin b 6 200 mg a day and desensitization excercise to niple

Thank you for your question.  At one month post procedure, it is quite normal to have nipple sensation changes and/or size changes due to swelling (especially with a peri-areolar incision) and will subside as healing progresses.  Best of luck.

It is common to experience nipple erection after the skin is stretched and the nipple is pushed outward by the implant. It would be best to wait for full recovery, which usually takes about 6 months, as your body accommodates and relaxes.

This is not an uncommon problem. Due to the pressure of the implant in on your underlying breast structures and nerve tissues nipple hypersensitivity can occur. Fortunately it is usually self-limiting and should subside completely what time.

You still are early in your healing process and still have swelling. As the swelling subsides, hopefully your nipples will settle back down to normal.

This is not an uncommon complaint. Tension placed on the skin can push the nipple outward. Also, if the sympathetic nerves come back before the sensory nerves, the body can mistake a sensory stimulation for that of a fight or flight type response. In my patients, we have them stimulate the nipple with a washcloth during bathing twice a day. Usually, in 2 to 4 weeks, this will abate. Hope that's helpful.
