How to get the medical glue off my incision/skin?

My dr put glue on my nipple incision area, its been 2 weeks and the glue is taking so long to come off and when I try to peel it hurts as its pulling on me. Is there a way I can get it to come off easier? Should I dry it out or put oil on it? I want to put scar gel on but the glue is half in my way while other parts of the incision is showing.

I tell patients that the glue will come off when it is ready - usually 3 - 4 weeks after surgery.

Thank you for sharing your question.  I would allow more time to pass as eventually the glue will fall off on it's own.  If attempting to remove it causes you pain it is too well adhered and shouldn't be forced off.  Hope this helps.

You should talk to your surgeon about what he would like you to do. Sometimes a little neosporin or bacitracin helps loosen the glue.
