Hello. Great question. Taping does not reduce scar tissue. Taping can help with pressure and swelling. Keep following up with your surgeon as he is the one who knows your condition. Best of luck with your recovery. Congratulations on your rhinoplasty.

At least from these photos, the asymmetry is very small, (when measured with a ruler, even if it means a lot to you), and it's probably not worth going through an operation to try to fix it. If we miss by a little bit, then you'd end up with a different asymmetry, probably about the same small...

The longevity of cartilage grafts depends upon individual healing characteristics and blood supply, type of cartilage, use of cartilage, and meticulous detail of the procedure.  Unless there is an infection, the cartilage grafts should not resorb or lose structure.
