You will not get the result right away. This series of injections is most commonly performed along the underside of the jawline and chin, and in the jowl region. Lipostabil's active ingredient is sodium deoxycholate, which causes the fat cells that it is injected into to die. The phosphatidycholine which is combined with deoxycholate does three things: it enhances dispersion, or spread through the tissues, it "governs" the severity of the reaction, and it delays the necrosis response a bit so the reaction happens over time rather than instantly. In my experience , combining phosphatidylcholine (PC) with deoxycholate (DC) increases its safety. The injections can be painful. DC by itself can be extra painful. Ways to reduce pain include dilution of the drug, injection of smaller volumes, or combining a small amount of local anesthetic with the injection. Bruising and swelling are expected, and this may take 5 days or so to subside. Advantages include the lack of a scar, the quickness of the procedure, and the cost-generally less than surgery. Disadvantages are pain, temporary deformity, and the frequent need for more than one treatment. The end result may be that the cost is actually a bit higher than liposuction or radiofrequency assisted neck contouring.
