I am due to have the remaining 1/3 of my staples from behind my ears removed in 5 days. I will be 1 mon. post op Facelit. I've had great results and am ahead of schedule in my healing. The Dr. said I have a thickened scab on the incision line under a staple. He just suggested I shampoo the area a bit more vigorously. Could this scab delay the removal of that staple or two? I am finding the staples to be increasingly irritating making back sleeping EVEN more difficult! Thank you

Answer: Staples and facelifts The staples or suture from a facelift are usually removed in 7 to 10 days. There may be a specific reason they are in soo long. The scabs should be removed and the staples removed. The staples will be increasingly problematic. good luck

Answer: When do most of us Remove Staples As mentioned, most people have different protocols for removal of stiches and staples.I am in the 10-14 day camp as well. However, I ensure patients put lots of Polysporin/Vaseline on the incisions to ensure it is nice and moist. This helps with healing and helps the staples come out easier. You could ask your surgeon if using some Vaseline would be ok as this typically softens the scabs and allows them to come out easier. James P.
