I had 360 liposuction done on March 15, 2017. I'm still pretty swollen around my bra area. How long should swelling last? If My garment isn't tight enough in that area will that affect my final result?
Answer: Liposuction and swelling Hello,Swelling after liposuction usually resolves in most patients by 3 months, although in some it can last a bit longer depending on their level of activity and healing patterns. Your bra may be causing a localized tourniquet effect and enhancing the appearance of the residual swelling. Garments do not affect the final results and merely help to contain the swelling in the recovery phase. If you chose to wear a garment, opt for one that provides smooth and thorough coverage of the treated areas.Warm regards,Dr> Pedy Ganchi

Answer: Liposuction - Post Op Swelling Thank you for your question and photo. You should expect to have swelling for three to six months following liposuction. Use of a properly fitted compression garment will help decrease the length and severity of the post-operative swelling. As the swelling decreases, the contour will dramatically improve. Please follow your plastic surgeons specific advice regarding your level of physical activity. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.

Answer: Post liposuction swelling Yes. Swelling after liposuction can take anywhere from 3-6 months to fully resolve. Sometimes longer in certain patients. Your contour will continue to change as the swelling diminishes. The garment is really just to help with the swelling. It doesn't affect your outcome. Best of luck.
