I have some nerve damage post neck lipo. Will ear numbness go away? I had neck lipo with a medium chin implant one month ago.

I still have numbness to the upper part of my ear lobe and above towards the middle. I do have sensation on the inner part. The bottom of he lobe has some sensation but as I go up it gets numb. My ps says that this is due to disturbing the great auricular nerve and will heal in 2 to 3 months. Does this nerve regenerate and if so how long does it take to get sensation back? Is there anything I can do to help it? If it does not come back can the nerve be repaired with surgery? I am 47.
