Unfortunately, Emsculpt will not remove scar tissue. This may benefit from Vaser ultrasound, possible fat grafting and/or tummy tuck to improve areas. An exam and consultation with a/your plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your options and expectations.
Hi Air,Unfortunately Emsculpt will not break up scar tissue from previoius abdominal liposuction. I have seen the appearance of uneven lumpy abs from previous liposuction improve after Emsculpt. It is thought that the increased muscle mass and tone improves the appearance of the abdominals. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
EMSculpt has not been proven to have any effect on scar tissue. The EMSculpt has been shown to effect muscle growth and fat destruction. It will work best on individuals who do not have excessive subcutaneous fat overlying the muscle to achieve the super maximal muscle contractions that are not achieved through normal exercise. BMI’s of 25 and less are a good target but benefits will still be possible at higher BMI’s. The beneficial effects will be less. Changes will occur over several months after the series of treatments has been completed. The fat content will be reduced, and the muscle content will be increased. Results vary for each individual. You can improve your core muscle function leading to other benefits beside fat loss. Standard treatment involves 4, 30-minute treatment sessions on a specific body part. The intensity of the treatment session may affect the final outcome.
Hi,The mechanism of Emsculpt is to tone muscle but not to break up scar tissue and it doesn't have FDA clearance for that. If in an abdominal muscle treatment, you softened the scars, it would be a bonus.Warmly,Dr. Liu
Thanks for your question. No, I don't think I'd expect EMSCULPT to break up scar tissue from your liposuction necessarily; however, I would expect it to make a nice improvement in your abdominal muscle appearance, strength, and to reduce some additional abdominal fat. I'd suggest making an appointment for a consult! You will be impressed with this technology.
Hi there,Emsculpt is great for muscle toning and fat tissue reduction, sculpting the abdomen and buttocks. It may help to improve the appearance of the abdomen by strengthening the abdominal wall, but it depends on the type and extent of scarring. The caveat remains that Emsculpt cannot break scar tissue, and that you are best off seeing your original plastic surgeon or seek advice from another Board Certified one who can advise you how to manage and improve the scarring.I hope this helps.Have a great day ahead!
Emsculpt is a great new technology that strengthens muscle and does remove some fat. It does not remove or break up scar tissue and while my patients love EMSculpt I would not offer it to someone for this. I would highly suggest in person consults of plastic surgeons who can offer you both EMSculpt but also surgery. If you go to someone who just has the machine, high chances they will offer it to you. Be careful out there, you are already dealing with a complication...
Emsculpt is FDA approved for building muscle and burning fat in the abdomen and buttocks. I know some providers have used Emsculpt in the thigh area ‘off-label’ with great results. BTL is currently working on obtaining FDA indication for treatment of thighs, but as of now it may be diffic...
EMSculpt should not be performed if there is metal present to avoid possible injury to the tissue around the metal. For your safety, I do not recommend EmSculpt while you have the copper IUD. Plastic IUD’s should be a non-issue.
Thanks for your question. The answer is that, yes, it would be safe to do Emsculpt treatments BEFORE getting pregnant. However, I'd probably counsel you to postpone the treatments until after you have had your baby (and wait a few months after delivery). This will give you the best value and ...
