I am wanting my face to look more balanced :(
Answer: Facial Slimming — Masseter Botox, Facetite/Renuvion J Plasma, Buccal Fat Pad Removal, Fillers to sculpt the Cheek/Jawline/Chin This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping. 3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender 4. Fillers to the jawline, chin, cheeks, temples and brow help to shape the face and make it more angled and defined Always use at home derma rolling (see link to Emerageskin x anteageMD roller plus stem cells/hyaluronic acid ampules) and peels like emeragecosmetics enlighten or aerify that can be used to improve skin quality and tighten the skin while improving wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, and Melasma. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Voluma Works Well For Nonsurgical Cheek & Chin Augmentation & Can Be Dissolved With Hyaluronidase I have been performing nonsurgical cheek and chin augmentations (both of which, from the photographs provided, should provide very gratifying improvements) with volumizing fillers for three decades. I have used Radiesse successfully in my NY office for this purpose even back in the early days when it was known an Radiance, and I have been using Voluma XC for quite a few years already before it came to the U.S. (since it was approved for use many years earlier in Israel, where I have a satellite facility). Both are made of natural (not foreign-to-the-body, permanent materials) and are excellent volumizing fillers. And both offer results that may last up to two years in the cheeks and chin. The main advantage of Voluma is that it is a hyaluronic acid based filler, which means that, if for any reason the results of treatment needs to be reversed (i.e. the material needs to be dissolved), this can be done with the enzyme hyaluronidase. No such equivalent dissolving enzyme exists for Radiesse. It is for this reason that I typically prefer Voluma. Make sure to consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and be certain to ask to see his./her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Facial Rejuvenation Having additional volume in the mid-face or cheek region will lift lax tissues in this area but rarely lifts the lower face. Hence, it is often necessary to tailor the rejuvenation process by selectively placing Radiesse and Voluma in the cheeks and then adding Voluma or another filler to contour the lines adjacent to the mouth. Contouring the mid-face or cheeks is the first goal which is followed by the lower face. Think of it as building a foundation and then the walls.

Answer: Choice of Filler Thanks for your question. It does appear that you have some mid face volume loss and could benefit from dermal filler. We are fortunate to have many excellent choices for dermal filler, and quite frankly there is no "best" filler. I would suggest you focus more on careful selection of the artist, that is the person holding the syringe, your expert. That person can guide you as to best choice for your area of concern, and you may in fact wind up using more than one brand of filler both initially and over time. Do not assume that board certification or a particular subspecialty degree will guarantee you a good outcome. Focus on years of experience, before and after photos of that injectors' filler clients, and your interaction with the injector at the time of a consultation. In fact I would also suggest that you see an injector who carries multiple brands of dermal filler- then your options will not be limited. Start with your mid face volume loss first, moving on to chin augmentation as a secondary area. Best, Lisa Vuich, MD

Answer: Voluma Thank you for your photos. I would recommend using voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler specifically made to restore age-related volume-loss to the mid-face (cheeks, cheekbones and around the chin). Voluma typically lasts up to 18 months and provides a more smooth, natural look. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
