Botox in masseter muscle fail. Recommendations?

Question

I had over developed masseter muscles due to bruxism. I had botox which created moderate assymetry. Had more botox. I asked the dr to only the one side that was larger but he insisted on doing both. I still have assymetry and now one side (the larger side is painful to chew and overall sore) it's been two months since the last injections. Recommendations???

Since the masseter is so large it takes a bit of time--sometimes a couple of months to see the complete results and often takes more than one injection session before the results are what you want. Make sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist with experience in cosmetic procedures

Injecting the master muscle requires multiple treatments to see the effects.  At this point you have to give it time to settle down from the botox for 3-4 months if you are not happy with the results.

Botox in the master muscle takes times to shrink down. It is definitely a "once and done" procedure.  Perhaps you need more Botox injected into one side and it will need to be repeated in a few months.  Please consult an expert in masseter muscle injections.  Best, Dr. Green
